Browser Compatibility Issues with AuxINFO, AuxLMS  and the Help Desk

Recent updates to the Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers for Windows PCs have resulted in compatibility issues with some Auxiliary web based services (functions no longer work, displays format differently, hangs, etc). User action is often required to resolve the problems.

When using Internet Explorer 10 or IE 11 (IE) to access AUXINFO ( and AUXLMS (, IE will not display the pages correctly without the user first changing IE compatibility settings. In AUXINFO, the Dimension Viewer (the left pane of the AUXINFO window) and the Dimension Line (drop-downs) will not display without these setting changes. To get IE 10 to work properly, the user must set IE to use compatibility mode:

  1. Open IE 10.
  2. If the Menu bar [File Edit View Favorites Tools Help] is not displayed, hit the Alt key to display it.
  3. Click "Tools", and from the resulting drop down menu, select "Compatibility View settings".
  4. In the window that opens, in the box under “Add this website:” type “”.
  5. Click the ”Add” button,
  6. Repeat step 4 above, using “”.
  7. Click the “Add” button.
  8. Then click “Close”

The above should be similar for Internet Explorer 11.

AUXINFO and AUXLMS should now behave normally with  IE 10 or IE 11.

National Help Desk

When using the new Internet Explorer 10 or 11 to access the national help desk (, some screens may not display properly. If you see that, you must set IE’s compatibility mode back to IE 10 mode by doing the following:

  • Open the help desk in IE 10.
  • Hit F12 to bring up the compatibility mode window.
  • On the top menu bar, click on “Browser Mode:” (this is just to the right of “Validate”).
  • From the resulting drop down window, select “Internet Explorer 10”, the top selection (Not “Internet Explorer 10 Compatibility View”).

The above should be similar for Internet Explorer 11.
