Knowledgebase: Vessel Examinations
I was boarded by the Coast Guard. They found that some of my safety equipment was outdated. Can I get a Vessel Safety Check?

Go to our Vessel Examination Department's Vessel Safety Checks page at http://cgaux.org/vsc/
Towards the bottom, you'll see "Find an Examiner".
Entering your Zip Code will bring up the closest Vessel Examiners, from both the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the U.S. Power Squadrons.
You will be able to contact the certified Vessel Examiner of your choice.

All things considered, it's lucky that you found out via the Coast Guard, rather than an emergency, that you needed to update your boat's safety equipment.
